Oh, what a year it was. I just went shopping – my usual middle of the night sortie – and compared how relatively relaxed I am now (I still don’t like it) to the nervous cat I was a year ago this time.
Honestly, it’s Frank Sinatra who has lead me through the night for the past two shops (we have a usb/mp3 outlet in the car). But since Frank didn’t release anything in 2020 (!) I’ll have to think back about what I liked best that year.
Post Malone’s “Circles” was on the 2020 charts and I was going to go with that. But I already featured that tune for Reelin’ in the Years – 2019. So I can’t do that again.
Or can I?
Two in a row?
Nah.
The definite choice then is Dua Lipa. I love her name. So suggestive. It sort of ricochets with connotation. But there’s a lot more to her than euro sexiness and talent. I actually do not like it when I see her dancing like a striptease artist on a sofa in some silly videos. I think she’s a lot smarter than that but is just following what some artless video producer tells her to do.
Sad if true.
Anyhow, as I say, she’s a great talent and sexy as can be in her own sultry way. Nothing wrong with sexiness. Not everyone has it! Just another gift from God.
I’ll just add that there were many more great pop hits for 2020. The US charts and the Canadian charts more or less contain the same stuff but in vastly different orders. Funny. I always thought I was an outsider but my preferences closely follow the Canadian charts!
Not so different after all… 🙂😇
