Am getting enthused about digital music making. Have been pouring my brains out over a new audio workstation called REAPER, which so far looks more extensive and flexible than the one I learned on, KRISTAL.
Thinking of re-imagining George Harrison’s song, “Isn’t it a Pity,” from his All Things Must Pass lp (which came out just after the Beatles broke up). I’ve always loved this song,† feeling that it epitomizes the end of an era, and am thinking of doing either a Chillout or possibly Dance version.
Just starting to map out the basic drums now… I did 4-track Fostex recordings back in the 90s (with an extra “bounced” 5th track). So this is just a logical extension. Lots to learn but it really is fun.
Regrettably, Earthpages will have to take a back seat for a few days. Or maybe not. I might still find time to update it. But something tells me… probably not. Learning this software and getting a new song going is pretty absorbing…
† The version posted here is a bit different from the one I knew, which I can’t find on YouTube.
